BART seeks input on Bay Fair TOD and access plan

First Public Workshop scheduled for Saturday, September 16

BART and its project partners - Caltrans, the City of San Leandro, Alameda County and Bayfair Center - are asking for the public's ideas to help beautify the area around the Bay Fair BART Station. A public workshop has been scheduled for this coming Saturday to gather community input about possibly adding housing, shopping, and making the area more accessible to transit riders and pedestrians.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, September 16th on the 2nd floor hallway of the Bayfair Center. You can enter through the main entrance near the Century Theaters or take the Food Court escalator to the 2nd floor. The workshop will consist of an Open House at 9 a.m., Presentation at 9:30 a.m. and Site Tour & Recap at 10:30 a.m.

The public may comment verbally or in writing at the workshop or comment via mail by writing to Tim Chan, BART Planning Department, 300 Lakeside Drive, 16th Floor, Oakland, CA, 94612 or via email at [email protected]. Deadline for receipt of comments is September 22, 2006. To request an interpreter at the workshop, please call (510) 287-4705 at least 3 days in advance.
