Parking changes start Feb. 1 for Dublin-side surface lot at Dublin/Pleasanton Station

Parking changes start Feb. 1 for Dublin-side surface lot at Dublin/Pleasanton Station

On Monday, February 1, 2010, BART will transfer management of the 800-space "Fee" and "Permit" surface parking lot on the Dublin side of the Dublin/Pleasanton Station (download a diagram showing the changes .pdf) from BART to AvalonBay Communities. AvalonBay plans to develop housing on the 800-space "Fee and Permit" surface parking lot on the Dublin side of the BART Dublin/Pleasanton Station. We will keep you posted on the future of this surface lot as soon as we know AvalonBay’s construction schedule. AvalonBay has retained Central Parking System to manage the parking operation on their behalf.

The following parking changes only affect the Dublin side of the Dublin/Pleasanton Station. We are not changing parking on the Pleasanton side of the station.

LOCATION OF NEW DAILY PARKING PAY MACHINES
After February 1, instead of using the machines inside the Dublin/Pleasanton Station to pay your daily parking fees you will need to use the parking pay machines recently installed at the south end of the lot as you approach the station entrance plaza. The daily fees will still be $1/day. After you park, memorize your stall number as you will need to enter it into the pay machine. The machines will accept cash (exact change only, the machines don’t make change) or credit cards. Central Parking System requires drivers to pay parking fees seven days of the week.

PARKING FOR EZ RIDER CARD HOLDERS
Because BART will no longer manage the surface parking lot, after February 1, all drivers who pay for parking using a BART EZ Rider card must park in the Fee parking areas on the 4th thru 7th floors of the BART parking structure. The EZ Rider program is not valid in parking lots not managed by BART.

NEW LOCATION FOR PERMIT PARKING
After February 1, all drivers with BART parking Permits who now use the eastern portion of this surface lot will need to park on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of the BART parking structure in the areas designated for Permit parking.

STAFF ON HAND JANUARY 27 & 28 TO ANSWER QUESTIONS
On Wednesday, January 27 and Thursday, January 28, from 3:00 PM to 7:00PM, BART and Central Parking System staff will be present in the paid area of the Dublin/Pleasanton Station to answer questions regarding these changes.

Thank you for your cooperation during this transition.
