BART invites public to Black History Month event Feb. 17

BART invites the public to its second annual Black History Month event, which will be held on Wednesday, February 17, at BART’s headquarters, 300 Lakeside Drive in Oakland.  A fair featuring food, art, crafts and exhibits will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor foyer.  The celebratory program, which begins at noon, will be held in the 2nd floor auditorium.  

BART Board Member Carole Ward Allen will be the program's Mistress of Ceremonies.  Joining her will be BART Deputy General Manager Marcia deVaughn, BART Board President James Fang, renowned storyteller and former San Francisco Poet Laureate devorah major, youth vocalist Chris Pierce and jazz trio In Session.
