Earthquake safety work to limit access to West Oakland Station

Dear Customer:

You may have noticed the Earthquake Safety construction at West Oakland Station. The work to strengthen the station against earthquakes will soon limit access to the station. Beginning in mid-March, crews will move into a new phase of work that will be done in two stages:

During Stage 1, we will need to temporarily close the north station entrance/exit for approximately three months. During Stage 2, we will need to temporarily close the south station entrance/exit for approximately three months. During each stage, the opposite entrance/exit will remain open for use. Download a diagram (.pdf)  showing the impacted area for Stage 1.

You can expect temporary construction-related noise, dust and other detours. Please watch for signs with safety information and future bulletins about this project. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this safety work.
