Take BART to San Francisco celebrations this weekend

Be a car-free celebrant when you head to San Francisco’s 159th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival on Saturday or to the first Sunday Streets event of the year.

Downtown Stations Close to St. Paddy’s Day Events
You can exit any of BART’s downtown stations to view the parade.  It begins at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Second and Market Streets and travels down Market Street.  The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade features more than 5,000 participants, including BART’s own award-winning BARTmobile.  Last year, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade judges honored the BARTmobile with second place in the "Non-Profit" category. The parade will wind down to the St. Patrick’s Day Festival at Civic Center Plaza.  The St. Patrick’s Day Festival, which starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., is an easy walk from the Civic Center/UN Plaza Station.  The festival showcases Irish culture through live performances, children's activities, cultural displays, food and arts and crafts exhibits.
