Possible weekend delays on Pittsburg Bay Point line through September

For the next several weeks BART will run northbound Pittsburg/Bay Point line trains on a single track due to ongoing weekend track work for the Central Contra Costa Crossover Project. Single-tracking will take place on weekends only and we expect to complete this work in late September. Single-tracking may result in delays of up to 15 minutes on weekend trains going toward the Pittsburg/Bay Point Station. Please adjust your travel plans accordingly.

The Central Contra Costa Crossover Project will be completed in late 2010 and will add two new crossover tracks between Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek stations. Crossover tracks mean reduced delays on the Pittsburg/Bay Point line and also give us the flexibility to run more trains between Pleasant Hill and San Francisco to provide more seating for our passengers during the peak commute times.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
