Sunday Ridership in Top Ten Sundays; BART on Saturday Schedule During the Holiday

217,084 took BART Sunday during the Bay Bridge closure, the seventh highest Sunday ever.

BART recorded 278,858 trips Saturday, August 31, 2013 during the Bay Bridge closure. It was the second highest ridership for a Saturday, surpassed only by October 6, 2012. Ridership that day was 319,484, boosted by the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, Fleet Week, America’s Cup, Cal vs. UCLA, Giants vs. Cincinnati and a Justin Bieber concert.

On Friday, BART recorded 457,018 trips during the second day of the Bay Bridge closure. Ridership was, as expected, not as high as Thursday but still cracked the top five of all-time ridership days.

Also noteworthy: BART passengers enjoyed 97% on time performance during Thursday's landmark day.
