Maintenance delays on Pittsburg/Bay Point line; longer trains for weekend events

With great weather expected and a long list of sporting events, concerts, and other fun activities, BART is gearing up to provide longer trains all weekend to help people get around. Riders can expect longer trains than usual all weekend as well as special "event trains" which are deployed at the end of big events to help clear the platforms.

In addition, customers travelling on the Pittsburg/Bay Point line during the day on Saturday and Sunday should expect some delays due to single tracking because of essential maintenance work that must be performed.  BART is still in recovery mode and is playing catch up on maintenance work that was put off during our 24-hour service provided during the Bay Bridge closure.

On Saturday, Sept. 7,  there will be 10-15 minute delay between Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill from 8:30am-3:30pm because of single tracking. On Sunday, Sept. 8,  there will be shorter delays, about 5 minutes, near the Orinda station from 8am-2pm because of single tracking.

We apologize for this inconvenience and we will work hard to keep the delays at a minimum.
