Allied law enforcement agencies to help patrol BART system during funeral
Wednesday, January 29, is the funeral for BART police officer, Sgt. Tommy Smith. Many personnel from the BART Police Department will attend the funeral to honor him and support his family. To maintain safety of our customers and security on the system, allied agencies' law enforcement personnel will assist by covering BART stations, trains, and other facilities from 7am on January 29th until 7am on January 30th. BART PD will remain the primary response agency during the funeral. Our customers’ security and safety remains our first priority.
