BART to run longer trains for Chinese New Year Parade

BART will be operating long trains all day Saturday to bring customers planning on attending the Chinese New Year Parade into San Francisco. In addition to long trains in the evening BART will have extra event trains to bring customers home following the parade. BART staff will monitor the progress of the parade and we will have additional staff at Montgomery and Powell stations to assist customers. To avoid lines at ticket vendors BART recommends that you purchase a round trip ticket in advance or load value on your Clipper card.

On Saturday morning BART will be conducting track maintenance between Orinda and Pleasant Hill stations. This scheduled work will be complete in the early afternoon and should not affect customers traveling to and from the Chinese New Years' parade in San Francisco. Between the hours of 8 am and 3pm customers may need to transfer to a "Shuttle" train between Pleasant Hill and Orinda stations to complete their trip. To avoid construction related delays on Saturday customers may wish to use the Orinda station which will have regular service throughout the morning and early afternoon.

Celebrate the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse, with BART. BART’s own BARTmobile will join ferocious lions, costumed dancers and elaborate floats during the Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco. The parade is on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 5:20 p.m. It kicks off at the corner of Second and Market streets. To enjoy the parade, take BART to the Montgomery or Powell Street stations.
