Elevator out of service at El Cerrito Plaza Station 3/14-4/15

We will be taking out of service the elevator that travels to the platform level on the north side of the station from Monday, March 14 through Friday, April 15 for important maintenance work to replace the door assemblies. We will make every effort to return the elevator to service as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, this is the only elevator serving that side of the station. If you are on a Richmond-bound train and need to use an elevator, you should not get off the train at this station.

In order to have elevator access to or from northbound trains, you will need to use another station.

If you are traveling northbound and must go to El Cerrito Plaza Station, we suggest the following:

  • Stay on the train to El Cerrito del Norte Station and get off there. Use the platform elevator to go down to the concourse level and cross over to the opposite side of the station. Take the elevator to the platform for southbound trains and board a train to El Cerrito Plaza Station.
  • When you reach the station, there should be a working elevator on that platform which you can take to the concourse level.

To check and be sure if an elevator is in service before arriving at a station, please call 510-834-LIFT (510-834-5438) or 888-2-ELEVAT (888-235-3828), or sign up for elevator status alerts at www.BART.gov/stations/elevators

We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
