Permit space expansion at Orinda Station for Scoop carpools 11/13

We’ve had great success with our partnership with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and Scoop Technologies to maximize the efficiency of BART’s parking lots through carpooling. Using the Scoop App, commuters who carpool to Dublin/Pleasanton, Concord, Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre, Millbrae or San Bruno are guaranteed parking until 10am in Permit parking areas at the station.

Because of the high response to the initial rollout, we are adding approximately 68 new Permit spaces (re-assigned from Fee spaces) in the lot on the south side of the Orinda BART Station (click here for map). The program will roll out to the Orinda BART Station beginning November 13, 2017.

Using Scoop is easy. Download the app from the Google Play or the App Store. Then schedule your ride to Orinda BART Station before 9pm the night before your morning commute or by midday for that evening’s commute. Scoop will notify you shortly after the deadline if you have matched with one of their 65,000 users. Scoop also guarantees your ride home if you don’t find a match.
