BART PD to host "Trunk or Treat" event at Pittsburg/Bay Point Station

Halloween is just around the corner which means the BART Police Department "Trunk or Treat" event is back!

Come join our officers and staff at the Pittsburg/Bay Point BART Station on Friday, October 26 from 4-7 p.m for our third annual "Trunk or Treat" festivities. Children dressed in their Halloween costumes can visit our designated BART parking lot to collect candy, play games, get their faces painted, and participate in other Halloween activities!

“Trunk or Treat” is an alternative to the house-to-house Halloween trick-or-treating tradition. Kids still dress up in costumes and ask for candy, but instead of walking through neighborhoods, Trunk or Treaters are in a designated area with their parents/guardians and police officers close by.

This event is another way that our department is reaching out to the children and families in our communities to establish and maintain a positive relationship with them.

The event is open to all children under the age of 12. Entrance is free, but all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Last year the activities were held at the Coliseum and South Hayward stations and were a big success. Different stations will be selected for the event each year, focusing on those stations with schools and housing nearby.
