Planned weekend track work for Saturday 3/9 and Sunday 3/10

Saturday March 9

  • We will need to single track trains between Richmond and El Cerrito del Norte as we repair platform tiles and replace the edge strips with solid yellow strips that meet new standards at the Richmond Station. Riders should expect potential delays of up to 5-10 minutes.
  • There will be no Red Line (Richmond/Daly City) service on Saturdays. Riders will need to transfer.  The Orange Line (Richmond/Warm Springs) will have longer trains on.
  • Crews will be performing repair work in the BART Caldecott Tunnel after 9 pm creating a 5-10 minute delay.

Sunday, March 10

  • We will need to single track trains between Richmond and El Cerrito del Norte as we repair platform tiles and replace the edge strips with solid yellow strips that meet new standards at the Richmond Station. Riders should expect potential delays of up to 5-10 minutes.
  • In addition to the Richmond platform work, we will cancel Red Line (Richmond/Daly City) trains and two of the four Green Line (Daly City/Warm Springs) trains that typically serve riders on Sundays.
  • We will be single tracking trains between Embarcadero and 24th Street Mission stations due to track maintenance.  Riders should expect 10-15 minute delays before 7pm and 15-20 minute delays after 7pm.

Our Trip Planner has been updated with service impacts related to this work. We recommend riders check the Trip Planner before heading to BART.  Real Time Departures lists the timing of the next departing trains and does not list details about single tracking or planned maintenance.

BART Service Alerts are issued when more than one train is off schedule by 10 or more minutes.  Current alerts and planned maintenance advisories are posted at www.bart.gov/advisories
