AC Transit begins work on Bus Rapid Transit modifications at San Leandro Station 11/21 Update

Update: As AC Transit makes progress on their new intermodal area at San Leandro Station, the fences around the work area will be relocated on 11/30 to allow for construction on the eastern bus aisle. They will continue to insure safe pedestrian access that is ADA compliant. The project is on track for completion in early 2020.

AC Transit has begun work on modifications to the intermodal transit area at the station to accommodate their new Bus Rapid Transit service. The work will involve sidewalk and road closures and pedestrian detours. All detours will meet ADA specifications.

The work should take approximately 5 months and will be completed in stages with the fencing, detours, etc. moving as the work requires. Construction hours are between 7am and 4pm on weekdays. After work hours, those areas that can be opened, will be.

The work will result in improvements to the bus stop including increased sidewalk widths.
