BART Elevator Locations and Accessible Path for Civic Center/UN Plaza Station

Entering the Civic Center/UN Plaza Station

The BART trains at Civic Center/UN Plaza Station are located three levels below the street. The first level below ground is the concourse level. The second level is the platform for boarding the MUNI trains. The third level is the platform for boarding BART trains.

Two separate elevators (referred to as Street and Platform) are needed to get from the street to the BART train platform.

The street access to the elevator is located on Market Street between 8th Street and 7th Street.

From the street, the Street elevator will take you to the concourse level where the station agent and paid area are located. The Street elevator buttons are labeled "C" for Concourse and "S" for Street.

Once you arrive at the concourse level you will need to travel approximately 350 feet to the Platform elevator.

The platform elevator will take you down two levels: The first level is to the MUNI platform and the second level is to the BART platform. The Platform elevator buttons are labeled "C" for Concourse, "M" for MUNI, and "P" for platform. When the elevator arrives at the BART platform you will be at the far end of the platform. Note: As you exit the elevator at the platform level you will be facing the train tracks. Go left to reach the center of the train boarding area. Colma trains will be to your right and East Bay trains will be to your left.


Exiting the Civic Center/UN Plaza Station

The BART trains at Civic Center/UN Plaza Station are located three levels below the street.

Two separate elevators (referred to as Platform and Street) are needed to get from the train platform to the street.

When departing a Fremont, Pittsburg, or Richmond bound train the elevator will be towards the front of the train at the far end of the platform. When departing a Colma bound train the elevator will be towards the rear of the train at the far end of the platform.

The Platform elevator rises two levels: The first level is to the MUNI platform and the second level is to the concourse level where the station agent and paid area are located. The platform elevator buttons are labeled "C" for Concourse, "M" for MUNI, and "P" for platform.
