BART Elevator Locations and Accessible Path for Lake Merritt Station

Entering the Lake Merritt Station

The BART trains at Lake Merritt Station are located two levels below the street. Two separate elevators (referred to as Platform and Street) are needed to get from the street level to the train platform.

The Street elevator is located on the corner of 8th Street and Oak Street. The Street elevator will take you to the Concourse level of the station where the station agent is located. The Street elevator buttons are labeled "C" for Concourse and "S" for Street.

When you arrive at the Concourse level of the station you will need to exit the elevator and turn left. From this point you must travel approximately 500 feet to the Platform elevator. When going between the Street elevator and the Platform elevator there is no danger of encountering train tracks. The Platform elevator will take you to the platform level. The Platform elevator buttons are labeled "C" for Concourse and "P" for Platform.

When boarding a Richmond or San Francisco/Daly City bound train the elevator will be towards the front of the train at the far end of the platform. When boarding a Fremont bound train the elevator will be towards the rear of the train at the far end of the platform.
