Airport Drive and Bay Trail Bicycle Detours
BART is currently constructing the Oakland Airport Connector between the Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART Station and the Oakland International Airport. During construction a portion of the bicycle trail along Airport Drive will be temporarily closed. To access the Airport or the Bay Trail in this area the following routes are recommended.
- From Alameda/Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Regional Shoreline: Take Harbor Bay Parkway to Ron Cowan Parkway and continue on to the Bay Trail.
- From East Oakland (Hegenberger Road): Take Doolittle Drive south, go west on Williams Street, and use Neptune Drive to access the Bay Trail.
- From San Leandro (Williams Street): Take Williams Street west and use Neptune Drive to access the Bay Trail.
- From BART: Depart at the San Leandro BART Station and take Alvarado Street south to Williams Street. Take Williams Street west and use Neptune Drive to access the Bay Trail.

Summary of Activity
Construction of the BART Oakland Airport Connector (OAC) began in 2011 and 2012 in various locations at the Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART Station, along Hegenberger Road, 98th Avenue and Doolittle Drive, and at Oakland International Airport. In 2013 construction activities will continue and new components of the project will begin. OAC is scheduled to open for service in late 2014.
