Airport Drive and Bay Trail Bicycle Detours
BART is currently constructing the Oakland Airport Connector between the Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART Station and the Oakland International Airport. During construction a portion of the bicycle trail along Airport Drive will be temporarily closed. To access the Airport or the Bay Trail in this area the following routes are recommended.
- From Alameda/Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Regional Shoreline: Take Harbor Bay Parkway to Ron Cowan Parkway and continue on to the Bay Trail.
- From East Oakland (Hegenberger Road): Take Doolittle Drive south, go west on Williams Street, and use Neptune Drive to access the Bay Trail.
- From San Leandro (Williams Street): Take Williams Street west and use Neptune Drive to access the Bay Trail.
- From BART: Depart at the San Leandro BART Station and take Alvarado Street south to Williams Street. Take Williams Street west and use Neptune Drive to access the Bay Trail.

Construction Notification 24: Continued Tunnel Construction at the Intersection of Airport Access Road and Doolittle Drive

The Oakland Airport Connector (OAC) project will soon begin to construct the system’s tunnel structure, underneath the intersection of Airport Access Road and Doolittle Drive.

- Widening Hegenberger Road, to prepare the area for upcoming construction of the guideway foundation and column structures.
- Constructing the OAC guideway foundation and column structures in the median of Hegenberger Road.
