BART runs special service on Memorial Day weekend

BART will operate longer trains to accommodate crowds going to the many different Memorial Day weekend events, including the Carnaval Street Festival and Grand Parade in San Francisco and Giants games at AT&T Park. Then, on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, BART will operate on a Sunday schedule, but keep many trains long for those attending the Oakland A's game at McAfee Coliseum.

CARNAVAL STREET FESTIVAL AND PARADE
BART will keep a close eye on crowds and lengthen trains as necessary to accommodate riders attending both the day-long Carnaval Street Festival along Harrison Street between 16th and 23rd streets and the Grand Parade on Sunday, which starts at 9:30 a.m. near Harrison and 24th streets. Carnaval-goers attending the festival or parade should take BART to either the 24th St./Mission or 16th St./Mission stations.

SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS GAMES
BART also plans to lengthen trains during the times fans head to the Giants games on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the Giants take on the Colorado Rockies beginning at 6:05 p.m. and then play the Rockies again on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.

Those going to the game should get off at the Embarcadero Station and transfer to a MUNI train, which will take them to AT&T Park. Muni transfers are available at Muni sales table inside the BART paid area. According to Muni, the roundtrip adult Muni transfer fare is $2.50.

FLASH PASSES FOR CARNAVAL AND GIANTS GAME SUNDAY
To help expedite the flow of passengers through the faregates, BART will set up a table at the Dublin/Pleasanton Station from 7:30 a.m. on Sunday until 12:30 p.m., where staff will sell $10 roundtrip Flash Passes for travel between the Dublin/Pleasanton Station and any BART Station between Embarcadero and 24th Street Mission stations. Those who purchase a Flash Pass simply flash it at a Station Agent as they go through the swing gates located next to the Station Agent's booth.

BART staff at the Dublin/Pleasanton ticket table will also sell $9.90 regular "blue" BART tickets, good for a round trip from Dublin/Pleasanton to any of the four downtown San Francisco stations (Embarcadero, Montgomery St., Powell St. and Civic Center).

On Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 16th Street Mission Station, BART staff will set up a table and sell regular "blue" BART tickets valued at $1.40 (exact fare between the 16th Street and 24th Street stations and 16th Street and the four downtown San Francisco stations). BART will also be selling $2, $3, $4 and $5 tickets at this table.

MEMORIAL DAY TRAIN SERVICE & OAKLAND A's GAME
BART will operate on a Sunday schedule for Memorial Day, however BART will add a few extra trains to the schedule to accommodate crowds leaving the Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART Station after the Oakland A's take on the Texas Rangers at McAfee Coliseum. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
