North Berkeley Station elevator temporarily out of service

Starting Monday, January 26, 2009, BART will take the elevator at the North Berkeley Station out of service to make electrical improvements.  The work is expected to take three days.

If you require an elevator to use BART, you will not be able to use the North Berkeley Station during this work.  Please plan ahead and make alternative travel plans.

As an alternative, you may access BART at the Downtown Berkeley Station via AC Transit bus.  Take the AC Number 51 from University Ave. and Sacramento St. near the North Berkeley Station to Shattuck and Allston Way.

BART will reopen the elevators as soon as the work is finished.  Check the BART elevator hotline for the status of the elevators at (888) 235-3828. If you need special assistance planning alternative transportation, or to plan a paratransit trip during this outage, call BART Accessible Services at (510) 464-6184.

We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause.
