El Cerrito Plaza Station elevators temporarily out of service

From Monday, February 23, through Friday, February 27, crews will be interrupting elevator service at the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station to complete electrical improvements to the elevators. This temporary elevator shutdown will limit access to our train platforms at this station.

We will put one elevator out of service at a time. Work will start on the elevator to Platform 1(Richmond-bound trains) on Monday.
Work will start on the Platform 2 elevator (SF/Millbrae/Fremontbound trains) at mid-day on Wednesday. Please check our elevator hotline at (888) 235-3828 to verify which elevator is operating during the week. If you require an elevator, you must plan ahead and make alternative travel plans during this period. You can access BART by using the AC Transit Route 72 bus to the El Cerrito del Norte Station. You can also use whichever El Cerrito Plaza elevator is operating to backtrack to the next station (Del Norte or North Berkeley), cross over to the train going in the other direction, then travel back in the required direction.

If you have questions about bus routes or back tracking please call BART Transit Information Center (510) 236-BART. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this work may cause.
