Take BART to the 158th St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival

On Saturday, March 14, be green when you head to San Francisco’s 158th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival by riding BART!  The parade begins at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Second and Market Streets.  More than 5,000 participants, including BART’s own BARTmobile, will parade down Market Street to the St. Patrick’s Day Festival at Civic Center Plaza.  The festival showcases Irish culture through live performances, children's activities, cultural displays, food, beverages and arts and crafts exhibits.

The St. Patrick’s Day Festival, which starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., is an easy walk from the Civic Center/UN Plaza Station.  To enjoy the parade, you can exit BART at the Embarcadero, Montgomery or Powell Street stations.  To avoid crowds after the celebration, we suggest that you buy a roundtrip ticket.

CIVIC CENTER STREET ELEVATOR CLOSED
BART advises passengers who require an elevator that the Civic Center/UN Plaza Station elevator to the street is currently closed for repairs. While the Civic Center/UN Plaza Station elevator is closed, BART and Muni riders who rely on elevators should exit the systems at the Powell Street BART/Muni Station or at the Van Ness Muni MetroStation.  BART riders who wish to go to Van Ness Muni Station can transfer to Muni Metro at Powell or Civic Center. If riders are unable to proceed from Powell or Van Ness to their destination under their own power, they can take any one of the many Muni lines which stop on Market Street near Van Ness, Civic Center, and Powell.  For BART passengers who are making the transfer, please see a Muni agent at the Powell Street and the Civic Center Stations for transfer assistance.
