BART to run longer trains for officers' memorial service

BART will run longer trains to accommodate those traveling to Oakland’s Oracle Arena on Friday, March 27, to attend the memorial for the four Oakland police officers who were slain last Saturday.

Services to honor Sergeant Mark Dunakin, Sergeant Ervin Romans, Sergeant Daniel Sakai and Officer John Hege will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the event is open to the public.  The Oracle Arena is a short walk from BART’s Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station.  The City of Oakland urges people to arrive early.

To avoid overcrowding at the ticket machines after the service, BART officials suggest you buy a round-trip ticket at your point of origin.
