Richmond BART Station elevators temporarily out of service

From Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10, 2009, our crews will be interrupting elevator service at the Richmond BART Station to complete electrical improvements to the elevators. This elevator shutdown will temporarily limit access to both the BART and Capitol Corridor train platforms at this station.

We will start work on the elevator between the BART concourse (fare gate level) and the BART platform on Monday through Wednesday. We will do work on the concourse to Capitol Corridor platform and the street to concourse elevator on Thursday and Friday. Check our elevator hotline at (888) 235-3828 to verify which elevator is operating during the week.

If you require an elevator, you must plan ahead and make alternative travel plans during this period. El Cerrito del Norte Station can be used by patrons traveling on BART. It can be reached from the Richmond Station via AC Transit routes 72M, 76, and 71. For customers wishing to transfer from BART to Amtrak or Capital Corridor trains there are several options available. Call Capital Corridor at 1-877-974-3322 for assistance.

If you have questions please call BART Transit Information Center 510-236-BART. For information about paratransit alternatives call BART Accessible Services at 510-464-6184.
