Library-a-Go-Go comes to El Cerrito del Norte BART Station

BART is adding a novel amenity for its El Cerrito del Norte customers, giving riders access to library books via Library-a-Go-Go, an ATM-style device.  BART and the Contra Costa County Library will launch the newest “Library-a-Go-Go” book lending machine at El Cerrito del Norte Station on Tuesday, June 16.  BART was the first transit system in the country to offer this service when it opened the initial Library a-Go-Go at the Pittsburg/Bay Point Station in May 2008.

Anyone with a Contra Costa County Library card will be able to check out and return books.  If you don't already have a library card, Contra Costa County Library staff will be available at the station on Tuesday to register new library card holders. This is the third of four Library-a-Go-Go installations in Contra Costa County.  The other locations include a site in Byron/Discovery Bay and a future installation at the transit village at the BART station in Pleasant Hill.  The program is supported by grants from the Bay Area Library and Information System and Baker & Taylor, Inc.
