Watch the latest press conference

The BART Board of Directors will vote Thursday on the recently negotiated labor agreement with BART's largest union, the Service Employees International Union. You can find a summary of the SEIU agreement in the Board of Directors section of the BART website.

The vote is scheduled to happen during a special board meeting, which follows the regularly scheduled meeting that begins at 9 a.m. in the BART Board room located in the Kaiser Center 20th Street mall, Third Floor, 344 20th St. Oakland, CA.

The special board meeting also will include discussion of next steps with BART's second-largest union, the Amalgamated Transit Union, after ATU members voted to reject the contract that had been tentatively agreed to by ATU leadership. The Board will consider whether to unilaterally impose terms and conditions of employment for ATU workers. Meanwhile, regular BART service continues.

The Board will vote sometime in the near future on approving the tentative agreement with a third union, AFSCME, once BART staff has had a chance to finalize all the administrative matters needed to put the agreement before the Board.

You can also find the agenda for the regularly scheduled Board meeting in the Board of Directors section of the BART website. Topics to be discussed include a model for citizen oversight of BART Police.
