Ashby and Orinda station elevators temporarily out of service

From Monday, September 14 through Wednesday, September 16, 2009, our crews will be interrupting elevator service at the Orinda Station to complete elevator communication upgrades. In addition, from Wednesday, September 16 through Sunday, September 20, 2009, our crews will be interrupting elevator service at the Ashby Station to reroute electrical connections for the new elevator being constructed.

These elevator shutdowns will limit access to train platforms at both station. If you require an elevator, you must plan ahead and make alternative travel plans during this period. If the Orinda Station station is your stop, you may want to use Lafayette Station. If Ashby Station is your stop, consider Downtown Berkeley or MacArthur stations.

Check the BART elevator hotline for the status of the elevators at (888) 235-3828. If you have questions about public transit alternatives during these elevator outages, call BART Customer Services at (925) 676-BART.

We regret any inconvenience this work may cause and thank you for your patience.
