Switch from EZ Rider to Clipper now and avoid the year-end rush

The Clipper “smart” card is now available for fare payment on BART — and now is the time to make the switch from EZ Rider. The Clipper card is safe and convenient and works on AC Transit, SFMTA (Muni), Golden Gate Transit and Caltrain. You can add value to the card online, at ticket booths, add value machines in stations and at retailers. Sign up for a card at www.clippercard.com or pick one up at area retailers like Walgreens or at select transit agency ticket booths. (Find a full list of locations on the www.clippercard.com website.) We recommend that you sign up for the BART HVD (high value discount) product on the card in order to receive the same discount that has been available on EZ Rider.

The EZ Rider card for fare payment will be discontinued before the end of the year. We strongly recommend that you switch to Clipper now and avoid the rush. Go to your EZ Rider online account information to learn how to close your fare payment account and request a refund of the balance. If you use an EZ Rider card to pay for parking, you’ll still be able to use it for that purpose. Sometime before the end of the year, we’ll be able to accept Clipper cards for parking payment as well. We’ll be sending emails to all existing EZ Rider parking customers.

If you have any issues with using your Clipper card, you can contact Clipper customer service at [email protected] or by phone at 877.878.8883. You can also find more information on the www.clippercard.com website.
