Tests of adding fare to Clipper cards to be conducted at two BART stations

Beginning Wednesday, January 26, and continuing through Friday, January 28, BART will begin testing the ability to add cash value to Clipper cards using BART ticket vending machines (TVMs). The initial tests will be only at two stations, Glen Park and Civic Center, and the machines will not vend Clipper cards -- they will only test the ability to add cash value. One TVM in each station will be set up for the testing; look for signage directing you to the TVM where the test is being conducted.

To take part in the test, you must already have a Clipper card. You can get a Clipper card by ordering one online at www.clippercard.com or going to a transit agency ticket office, or at retail outlets such as Walgreens. Find more info on the Clipper card website, www.clippercard.com.

You will be able to add value to your Clipper card using cash or a credit or debit card at the Glen Park Station; the ticket vending machine at the Civic Center Station only accepts cash. Hours for the testing are from 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday and from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Thursday and Friday.

If you plan to participate in the testing, please download the passenger bulletin (.pdf) that will be handed out in the test stations and read the detailed instructions in the "Adding Value" grid for how to add value using cash or a credit/debit card.
