Improvements being made to interior of Rockridge Station

Beginning the week of October 31, 2011, construction work will be carried out at Rockridge to improve accessibility of the fare gates and Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs). In the first phase of the work, an area approximately eight (8) feet in front of the existing fare gates near the Station Agent booth will be barricaded to prepare the site for relocation of the fare gates and the addition of an accessible fare gate that can accommodate persons with disabilities, strollers, bikes and luggage.

The second phase of work will be the relocation of the fare gates and addition of the accessible gate. The third phase will involve preparation of the new location for three of the Ticket Vending Machines. The fourth phase will be the relocation of the Ticket Vending Machines. In this new location, the Ticket Vending Machines will be accessible to persons with disabilities. In the final phase, the existing emergency exit gate will be removed, the area will be prepared to receive an additional fare gate and the fare gate and some fencing will be installed. It is hoped that this work can be completed by the end of December. We appreciate you patience and will keep you updated as the work progresses.
