An invitation: Share your memories of BART during and after Loma Prieta

collapsed bridge section

BART played a vital role after the Loma Prieta earthquake, which was 25 years ago this October. To commemorate the tragic event and the role of BART and its employees, we are inviting riders to share memories for a special presentation on the www.bart.gov website.

Were you on BART at the time of the quake? What feelings did you have about BART's role in keeping you and your loved ones safe? How did BART affect your life as the Bay Area recovered?

Please take a moment to fill out the form here. We will not be able to use every submission in our coverage, but will contact you if we need to obtain more information. Please submit your memories by Wednesday, Sept. 10.

The more detail you can provide, the better, and please let us know if you have any photographs to share that show the BART system or BART employees during and after the quake.

We hope BART served you well, then and now, and are doing everything we can to continue to serve you well into the future with safety as our top priority.
