Who's eligible?
Students on a school-sponsored field trip for an educational purpose, not including A's games, are eligible. Students must be chaperoned by adults and enter and leave stations as a group; no exceptions.
What's the fare?
- 37.5% of full fare for students
- Adults pay full fare
To Order:
Send a letter on school letterhead with the following information:
- Date of trip
- Name of BART origin and destination stations
- Number of students
- Check or school purchase order payable to BART
- Include payment for adults at full-fare (or adults can purchase tickets in station at time of trip)
- Include street address; P.O. Box # is not acceptable

Your group can travel either by using individually encoded tickets or if your group is 100 or more people, a Letter of Authorization. BART needs to receive your letter and payment at least 10 business days before your planned trip in order to process your order.
If you do not have time to request tickets, students 18 years old or younger and traveling on a chaperoned school field trip, may use Red youth tickets. Red tickets can be purchased from BART Tickets to Go Vendors. Download a school field trip request form.
