Latest Ridership Trends

Total ridership in March of 4.2M trips was 42% of pre-COVID expectations, and 6.5% more than February total trips.
Average weekday ridership remained flat at 162,000, 40% of pre-COVID expectations, consistent with expected seasonal variation.
Average Saturday ridership decreased to 90,000 and Sunday increased slightly to 62,000 exits. These are 61% and 66% of pre-COVID expectations, respectively.
Total ridership for 2023 was 48M trips. That is up 16% from 2022. Average weekday ridership for 2023 was 158k, up 18% from 2022 while average Saturday and Sunday ridership averaged 89k and 65k, an increase of 12% and 13% respectively. 2023 saw a number of milestones including all of our current top 10 highest ridership days since the pandemic. These were largely related to major events during the year including conferences and concerts in San Francisco, Fleetweek, and Pride.
