BART open later on Halloween night

Longer trains will also accommodate crowds

On Halloween Night Monday, October 31 into Tuesday morning BART will not only lengthen trains to accommodate crowds headed to the East Bay from the Halloween festivities in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood, BART will also extend its service hours.

EXTENDED HOURS
Stations in downtown San Francisco and the East Bay will be open about 45 minutes longer than usual in order to help party-goers get back to the East Bay from the Halloween festivities.

BART will provide two Pittsburg/Bay Point (Yellow Line) trains that will start at San Francisco's 16th Street/Mission Station and head for the Pittsburg/Bay Point Station, making stops at all stations along the way. The trains will leave the 16th Street/Mission Station 25 minutes and 45 minutes later than the printed timetable. The exact departure times are 12:41 a.m. and 1:01 a.m. respectively. They will leave the Embarcadero Station, which is the last San Francisco stop, at 12:49 a.m. and 1:09 a.m. respectively.

Once each train arrives at MacArthur Station in Oakland, a Richmond (Red Line) and a Fremont (Orange Line) train will meet them to pick up passengers headed to stations along those lines. Passengers headed to Castro Valley or Dublin/Pleasanton Stations should transfer at the MacArthur Station to the Fremont line and then transfer again at Bay Fair Station to a waiting train that will take them onto Castro Valley and Dublin/Pleasanton.

LONGER TRAINS
BART will also lengthen many trains throughout Halloween night to accommodate the large crowds headed to and from the celebrations in downtown San Francisco and the Castro.
