Temporary elevator service interruption at Powell Street Station

From March 26 through March 30, BART crews will interrupt elevator service at Powell Street Station to complete electrical improvements to the elevators.

On March 26 and 27 the BART/Muni street elevator (located between Stockton and Powell on the north side of Market Street) will be out of service.

The platform to concourse elevator inside the station will remain in service on March 26 and 27.

To get between the street and the station concourse on March 26 and 27, use the Hallidie Plaza elevator at Market and 5th. This elevator will be open during all hours of BART and Muni service.

On March 28, 29, and 30 the concourse to platform elevator in the Powell Street Station will be out of service.

There will be no elevator access to the BART or Muni Metro platforms at Powell Street on these days. Customers who use this elevator to access the platforms must enter and exit BART and Muni Metro at either Montgomery or Civic Center station.

Use Muni service on Market Street to access Montgomery or Civic Center station. If you have questions about public transit alternatives during these elevator outages, call BART Customer Services at (415) 989-BART.
