Construction temporarily closes parking lot at Union City

Beginning Monday, July 30, construction at the Union City BART Station will close the central parking lot between Union Square Boulevard and the BART station.

Reserved Parking spaces in the central and south lots (see map below) will be moved to the north parking lot. Additional parking for BART riders will be available in a temporary lot east of the station. BART riders can enter the temporary lot using one of the two entrances off of 11th Street. The temporary parking lot is about a ten-minute walk from the BART station.

BART will relocate paratransit and passenger drop-off locations affected by the construction to an area close to the entrance to the station. Look for signs at the station for the exact location of the drop off area.

This work is the first phase of a project to improve car, bus, pedestrian and bicycle access to the Union City BART Station and to the Transit Oriented Development under construction to the east of the station. This phase is expected to take approximately two months to complete.
