Entrance/exit closures at Civic Center Station

BART is gearing up for the rainy season. As a result, we're going to shut down several entrances and exits at the Civic Center BART Station in order to replace the aluminum grates that cover the drains near the stairwells. This work will begin on Monday, October 1 and last several weeks.

We're doing this work for your safety. These new grates will help prevent you from slipping should it rain.

We will close just one entrance/exit at a time during the grate installation project. The first entrance/exit we will close will be the one that leads out onto the United Nations plaza area on the north side of the station. We will close this entrance/exit during non-commute hours, which is basically between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. We will have signs to direct you around the closure. We do intend to keep the entrance/exit open during commute hours.

ALTERNATIVES
During the closure, you are welcome to use the elevator next to the closed entrance/exit, or you can use the 7th Street/Market entrance/exit.

We appreciate both your patience and patronage and we thank you for riding BART!
