BART increases service for Fleet Week, Castro Street Fair

A variety of weekend events will mean longer trains

BART will increase trains lengths and keep standby trains on hand to accommodate the thousands of extra people who will choose the ease of riding BART over fighting gridlocked freeways, steep gas prices and sky-high parking fees when they head to Fleet Week, the Castro Street Fair and the other events around the Bay Area this weekend.

TRAIN SIZES FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
While BART will keep to the Saturday and Sunday train timetables, BART will increase service by adding more cars to the normal weekend train sizes.

Additionally, on Sunday, BART will have up to 11 extra trains to plug into the existing Sunday train schedule to accommodate crowds headed to and from Fleet Week festivities, the Castro Street Fair, the Italian Heritage Parade and the San Francisco 49ers versus Baltimore Ravens game that starts at 1:15 p.m. at Monster Park.
