Union City Station construction to relocate parking and bus stops

Beginning Monday, April 28, BART will relocate parking areas and bus stops so we can begin the first phase of a project to improve car, bus, pedestrian and bicycle access to the Union City BART Station and the City of Union City's transit village that's under construction east of the station. Details of the changes are on this map (.pdf file).

PARKING: The Central Lot will close for construction. Access/exit to the North-Reserved Lot will be from Union Square Blvd. Access to the South Lot will be at Union Square Blvd. and exit will be at the southeast corner at the loop road. Patron drop-off/pick-up will be located at the east end of the North &emdash; Reserved and South Lots. ADA parking and taxis will be located at the east end of the North - Reserved Lot only.

BUS STOPS: The buses will reroute by entering from Decoto Road and exiting onto Union Square Blvd. Look on the signs for the specific stops. Note that this route is for BUSES ONLY.

PEDESTRIANS: Access to the station from the Temporary Lots on 11th Street will have a detour across the loop road to a crosswalk leading to the station entrance. Access to the station from the North and South Lots will be through the lots to the station entrance.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may temporarily cause you. However, once all the Phase One work is done in 2010, the transit village will have 1,000 new housing units, retail and office space, which will transform the area into a beautiful and enjoyable place to live, work, shop and ride.
