Take BART to the Great Dickens Christmas Fair

Charles Dickens fans can check out a "Victorian Christmas card come to life" at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair, running four weekends at the Cow Palace starting Friday, Nov. 28, and continuing through Saturday, Dec. 21.

You can wander the lanes of Victorian London with the scent of pine boughs and freshly baked scones floating in the air and the sound of carolers and holiday merrymakers accompanying your stroll. Stop in for a hot toddy or a pint of Lagunitas at Mad Sal's Dockside Ale House, where the low-life hang out and the high-born drop in. Rest a spell in Cuthbert's Tea House, for a sip of hot tea and cucumber sandwiches. More adventurous types can check out a custom corset, learn to dance the can-can or join in bawdy pub songs. Going in costume is highly recommended to get into the spirit of the season.

Take BART to the Glen Park Station to catch a free shuttle to the fair, and show your BART ticket to get a $5 discount on one adult ticket.
