BART seeks public help in case of man found unconscious at Civic Center Station

The BART Police Department (BART PD) is seeking BART riders who used the Civic Center Station on Friday, March 9, 2012, and may have seen something unusual involving a Caucasian, six foot male with brown hair and hazel eyes. The BART PD is seeking the public’s help to find out what happened to this man who was found unconscious at approximately 12:30 Friday afternoon by a Civic Center Station Agent.  He was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. The Agent found him lying on the floor bleeding from his head near the pay phones at the concourse level of BART’s Civic Center Station close to the 7th and Market Street exit.  Customers pointed out the injured man, but did not wait for investigators to arrive.

The BART PD wants to know what caused this man’s injury and is asking anyone who was in the area who saw what happened to please help the investigation.  Witnesses may call the BART PD Investigation’s Section at (510) 464-7040, the confidential hotline at (510) 464-7011, or email Detective Wendy Sanchez at [email protected].
