Upgrading to Apple iOS 6? Download your BART trip planning app today

If you're one of our many customers who check BART schedules with the "Maps" application on Apple iPhone or iPad, you should be aware of some big changes in the newest version of Apple's mobile operating system, iOS 6.

iOS 6 Maps does not include schedules for BART or any other transit agency. If you select "Public Transit" in iOS6 Maps, you'll be prompted to download another app for BART information.

In other words: If you use iOS5 Maps for BART schedules, you need to download a separate BART app if you want to be prepared for iOS6 Maps.

Have no fear: BART powers more than 70 apps, including these which are ready for the changes in iOS 6:

Embark iBART (free)

Lumatic (free)

Transit App (free)

HopStop (free)

Embarcadero (paid)

More BART apps are being optimized for iOS6 every day, so check out our list at http://bart.gov/apps. You'll probably find more than one you like!

If you'd rather use "official" services from BART, that's fine, too. Point your mobile browser to http://m.bart.gov, sign up for text or email alerts at http://bart.gov/alerts or text "BART help" to 468311 for real time BART information day or night.
