BART and City of Fremont partner to provide Clipper cards to seniors

It’s now more convenient than ever for seniors 65 years of age and older who live in Fremont, Newark or Union City to get a free Senior Clipper card. The City of Fremont Human Services Department now accepts Senior Clipper card applications and can issue these special Clipper cards between 9 am to 4 pm weekdays.  The Human Services Department office is at Fremont City Hall, 3300 Capitol Ave, Building B. Bring in acceptable proof of age such as a driver’s license, state ID card, passport, birth certificate, alien registration/permanent resident card, matricula consular/consular ID card, SF City ID, military ID card or a medical benefit card with date of birth and complete the Senior Clipper Card Application. Clipper is an all-in-one transit card that keeps track of any passes, discount tickets, ride books and cash value that you load onto it. Senior Clipper cards are specially programmed to purchase discounted passes and receive a discount when paying with cash. Clipper is accepted on AC Transit, BART, Caltrain, Golden Gate Transit and Ferry, SF Muni, SamTrans, San Francisco Bay Ferry, and Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority (VTA).
