Stockton and Ellis entrance at Powell Street Station closing

The Stockton and Ellis Street entrance at Powell Street Station (otherwise known as the “Apple Store” entrance) will close on April 24, 2013. The closure is necessary as the City of San Francisco and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) begin construction work on the Union Square/Market Street Station for the Central Subway.

The entrance will be closed for approximately 5 years. SFMTA plans to re-open the entrance with the opening of the new Union Square/Market Street Station.

There is an elevator available near this entrance which goes to street level and will still be in operation. The other nearest entrance/exit is at Market and 4th Streets.

Please see the map on the passenger bulletin for the location of the entrance to be closed and alternative entrances.
