BART invites local small businesses to webinar on 11/3/22

BART's Office of Civil Rights (OCR) invites local small businesses to register and attend a virtual webinar on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 2-3:30 pm. BART has a Small Business Support Services Program to help small, minority, women, disabled veteran, and LGBTQ+ businesses navigate how to work with government and win business.

The webinar is part of OCR's Small Business Support Services' efforts to increase participation and successful performance for small businesses on BART construction projects. 

The webinar will provide an overview of BART's Project Stabilization Agreement Compliance and will cover: 

  • The importance of the Pre-Job Conference
  • Ways contractors can dispatch trades workers through union hiring halls
  • Methods for tracking employee time and work classifications
  • How to effectively request additional “trade/work classifications” and wage rates
  • Recognize typical errors that require correction and what could happen when
  • things go wrong
  • How to make the correct fringe benefits contribution to the appropriate trust fund

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

  • Business Development & Estimating Executives from firms wishing to bid on BART Contracts
  • Chief Executives, Accounting and HR Professionals from firms currently holding BART Contracts
