Temporary changes to parking at Bay Fair Station starting Feb. 22

As part of our systemwide Earthquake Safety Program, we are starting construction to strengthen the elevated structures in the Bay Fair Station parking lot to allow them to better withstand future earthquakes. This work will require the temporary closure of some daily fee parking spaces and the relocation of disabled parking spaces starting Friday, February 22, 2013 (see map on the passenger bulletin .pdf). The work will occur between 7 am and 7 pm, Monday through Saturday, with some night work and is expected to be completed in approximately three months.

Individual spaces may be re-opened as work is completed. The contractor will post “No Parking” signs in the designated areas prior to work beginning. Vehicles that are not moved from areas that have been marked with “No Parking” signs on the date posted will be subject to ticketing and/or towing. Please watch for signs with safety information and other notices. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this work.

A related project to strengthen the Bay Fair Station will occur in the future. We will distribute a passenger bulletin before it occurs. As always, safety is BART’s top priority. Our aim is to strengthen BART as quickly as possible, while maintaining BART service.
