Entering Balboa Park Station

Check the status of out of service elevators ELEVATOR ALERTS

There are two levels below the street at Balboa Park Station. The first level is the concourse. The second level is the train platform.

Only one elevator is needed to get from the street to the train platform. A prototype fare gate now encloses the elevator at the platform level to bring the elevator into the paid area

The elevator is located at the corner where the northbound 280 freeway onramp that intersects with Geneva Avenue. Press “C” for concourse level.

The elevator is located inside the paid area. Process your ticket and return to the same elevator to the train platform. Press “P” for train platform level.

At the train platform level, you will be at the far end of the platform.

Exiting Balboa Park Station

The train platforms at Balboa Park Station are located two levels below the street.

Only one elevator is needed to get from the train platform level to the street level.

Exiting from East Bay bound trains the street elevator will be towards the front of the train at the far end of the platform. Press “C” for concourse level.

Exiting from San Francisco Airport (SFO), Millbrae bound trains the street elevator will be towards the rear of the train at the far end of the platform. Press “C” for concourse level.

The concourse located inside the paid area. Process your ticket and return to the same elevator to the street level. Press “S” for street level.

When exiting the street elevator, you will be at the corner where the northbound 280 Freeway onramp intersects with Geneva Avenue.
