Construction Notification 10: Soil Hauling Operation to Begin Along Driscoll Road

March 29, 2010

Summary of Activity

Contractors will begin soil hauling operations using Driscoll Avenue and Paseo Padre Parkway. Soil will be stored in the field east of Fremont Central Park, just south of the golf course between the Union Pacific Rail Road tracks. Hauling hours are 8:30 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 7 pm, Monday through Friday. Additional hauling will be required throughout the duration of the project.

Construction Notification 6: Fremont Central Park Subway Construction Work to Begin on Stevenson Boulevard

Summary of Activity

Construction of the Fremont Central Park Subway will begin in mid-December 2009. This work will require two phases of lane reductions on Stevenson Boulevard between Guardino Drive and Civic Center Drive. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Stevenson Boulevard as follows:

Phase 1 – December 2009 through Summer 2010: One lane of traffic in each direction on the northern side of Stevenson Boulevard. The westbound bike lane on the northern side of Stevenson Boulevard will remain in service. Automobiles and bicycles will share the eastbound lane of traffic through the area.

Phase 2 – Fall 2010 through Spring 2011: One lane of traffic in each direction on the southern side of Stevenson Boulevard. The eastbound bike lane on the southern side of Stevenson Boulevard will remain in service. Automobiles and bicycles will share the westbound lane of traffic through the area.

The construction work will include:

Removing the median between Guardino Drive and Civic Center Drive
Repaving and striping Stevenson Boulevard
Constructing the subway

Anticipated general work hours are 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, with some work on Saturday as necessary. Work hours in the Lake Elizabeth area are 7 am to 10 pm, Monday through Friday, and 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday.
