Station Lighting Modernization in Construction

Riders using the Concord Station will enjoy LED lighting improvements being installed throughout the station from the concourse to the platform. Behind the scenes, important upgrades to the emergency lighting system, back-up power, and lighting controls are also being implemented. Construction began in March 2026 and is expected to wrap up by the end of June. This project was designed with funding from the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) program.

Station Modernization Plan

The 2016 Concord Station Modernization Plan is a long-term vision for improvements to enhance accessibility, safety, capacity, state of good repair, appearance, and sustainability at Concord Station. The plan was done in partnership with the City of Concord assessing needs, collecting custom feedback, identifying transformative opportunities, and developing a preferred set of improvements that can be phased in over time as funding becomes available.
