BART offers electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Warm Springs and Lafayette stations as part of a pilot.
Parking payment is required Monday through Friday from 4:00 am to 3:00 pm. Parking payment is not required on weekends and BART parking holidays. Color-coded signs in front of each EV charging stall specify the required type of parking payment for that specific charging space.
Use of an EV space while not actively charging may result in a fine. If you have additional questions or comments on the EV pilot program, please visit our EV programs page under the Sustainability section or email [email protected].
Warm Springs Station (42 plugs): The cost to charge at the Level 2 ChargePoint stations is $0.13/kWh 24 hours a day, seven days a week (including holidays). Spaces are designated for monthly parking holders or those purchasing EV reserved parking (15 spaces) and those purchasing daily fee parking (27 spaces, including three ADA spaces). All EV spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis so we recommend purchasing your parking once you have arrived at the station to ensure a space is available. Note: Until July 31, 2023, BART will accept use of a single/multi-day reservation for EV reserved parking. After this date, parking in an EV Reserved space will require purchase of an EV-specific reservation. Click here for information on how to pay for parking. Park in EV Parking for up to 24 hours. See the parking page for additional details.
ChargePoint members can tap their ChargePoint card over the charging station’s reader symbol to start a charging session. It is free to register as a ChargePoint member and recommended for those who will regularly use the EV charging stations at Warm Springs. If you do not have a ChargePoint account, dial 1-888-758-4389 to begin a charging session. To become a member, go to ChargePoint's website.
The Daily Fee ADA EV spaces are in the Accessible Parking area. Other EV spaces are in the Electric Vehicle lot. See map below.

Lafayette station (4 plugs): Starting Thursday, May 1, 2025 the Shell app will no longer be used to pay for the EV chargers at Lafayette station. There is an upcoming change to the software provider for these chargers. Until the new software is installed, the chargers will be free to use. BART parking payment is still required.
There may be upcoming workdays when the chargers will be unavailable for use - signs will be posted 72 hours in advance. Information regarding the new app to pay for charging along with pricing will be available soon.
Spaces are designated for those purchasing Daily Fee parking (1 space) and those purchasing single/multi-day reserved parking (3 spaces). All EV spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis so we recommend purchasing your parking once you have arrived at the station to ensure a space is available.
